My name is Carl Fisher, artist and freelance designer.  Southern Maine Design and Drafting Service is my business, whose mission it is to utilize my technical expertise and unique artistic eye to design and draft projects for an array of professional clients including engineers, architects, builders/developers, small business owners and other firms looking for innovative design and drafting services.


Design and drafting has gone through a vast metamorphosis over the past 3 decades.  In the old days, a set of drawings were drafted by a team of drafters in a smoky drafting room. Now a single designer/drafter can do the same output that it used to take a team of 10 drafters to do in half the time for a fraction of the cost!  That is thanks in part to advances in computer technology and the fact that today’s designers work with more disciplines thus gaining broader experience and understanding of complex projects.  The right freelance designer can provide cost-effective solutions for all of your design and drafting needs. 

 
I have successfully started Southern Maine Design and Drafting Service out of my home in Saco.  I have a degree in Architectural and Engineering Design and have 6 years of technical 3D and 2D drafting experience. My abilities stretch through many disciplines from process piping design and building information modeling (BIM) in industrial settings to creative interior design. I have invested in an Autodesk platform as well as state of the art computer equipment. Autodesk is the industry leader in CAD design software. My overhead is low. My rates are competitive.  I am a freelancer, thus no payroll cost to you. Southern Maine Design and Drafting Service will get the job done and save you money.

 
Southern Maine Design and Drafting Service offers a solution for anyone who has an idea but needs help visualizing and conveying that idea to a builder.  Using my artistic ability and 6 years of computer aided design and drafting experience, I will work closely with you and help you take your vision to the next step.  Once you are satisfied with a conceptual drawing, Southern Maine Design and Drafting Service will provide high quality 3D models and 2D drawings for you.  Deliverables may be pdf or dwg electronic files and/or full size hard copy drawings ready for stamping if required.
